Author: hj (AZ) Use a torch and gently oestrus all around the cap for a curt time. Then attempt to turn it. If it does not turn easily, reheat some more and try over again. Keep repeating the procedure. When the temperature is only right the cap will unscrew every bit if it were oiled. Then install a new cap. The new ones are designed non to stick similar that. |

Author: pickenpost (SC) Thanks for this string of posts. I idea I was heating information technology plenty, but I wasn't. Author: iceman (Non-US) Thank-you to everyone for the keen communication. I used channel-lock to grip and twist. Twisted the base 45 degrees (Bad! That twisted the pipettes). Then Torch. So Penetrating oil. Then Tapping with hammer. Then mega torch. Null. Then tapped smartly all around with hammer. Came off like putty. Unfortunately, introduced pinhole in outlet pipette articulation from twisting. So I can either replace the fixture or sweat in three new 1/8" pipettes from the manifold to the mixing sleeping accommodation. Merely the end is quite damaged by the torch. Bed time. Will swear at information technology some more tomorrow. Wish I had read this first. Thanks all. iceman |
